With our parents, we opened Morks Restaurant in Florey, Belconnen on the 19th of September, 2008. Our mission is to create original, passionate and delicious Thai food, but most importantly bring back the unpredictability and excitement that so many Thai restaurants are missing.
Our parents knew what they were doing. Before opening Morks, they owned and operated Sukothai Restaurant in Yarralumla for 19 years. As soon as Mork could reach the sink, he worked in the kitchen. As soon as Benn could hold a tray, he's been serving customers. We grew up working in restaurants, just like our dad did.
Seven years on, Morks has developed a following with the critical acclaim to back it up.
We’ve been listed in the top 500 restaurants in Australia by the Australian Financial Review, awarded a Chef's Hat by the Australian Good Food Guide, recommended twice by Qantas' inflight magazine, featured in Australia's latest Lonely Planet, listed as one of the Top Six Best Hidden Restaurants by Out in Canberra, rated the best Canberran restaurant on Tripadvisor, and received countless spectacular reviews from bloggers, foodies and customers.
On the 19th of September, 2013, we relocated to the Kingston Foreshore.
